GlobalTech Bilingual Institute provides Adult Basic Education, 12 levels of English as a Second Language (ESL) from Literacy up to the General Educational Development (GED) program, Microsoft Office User training, career programs such as Bilingual Customer Service, Bilingual Secretary, and Office Administration, and a myriad of bilingual programs, courses, and workshops. GlobalTech Bilingual Institute provides onsite corporate training offering Spanish language for executives and English language for employees. GlobalTech's "Se Habla Espańol para Ejecutivos" offers Spanish language training from beginners to advanced, explanations of cultural idiosyncrasies, work ethics, and the opportunity to network with other executives interested in the Latino workforce. Gigi Guzman is also the President and CEO of GITECH Bilingual Services, a company offering Spanish-English language services, translations, documentation, bilingual web-site development, e-commerce and e-business. The company assists with document translations, flyers, brochures, signage, and other workplace communications materials. GITECH offers consulting in various aspects of Hispanic-Latino workforce and workplace issues. GlobalTech Bilingual Institute and GITECH Bilingual Services are divisions of GITECH Inc., a Hispanic woman-owned enterprise in continuous operation in the State of Maryland since 1988. GITECH Inc. is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and is recognized by the City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland. GlobalTech Bilingual Institute is approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) as a Private Career School. Gigi Guzmán is the recipient of the 1999 Welfare-to-Work Small Business of the Year Award presented by the Small Business Administration, of the MED Week Award from MDOT and a special award from the Maryland's MBE department. Ms. Guzmán is an active speaker and appeared in 2003 Tour of Success. Gigi Guzmán is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. Gigi Guzmán is a founding member of the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which began its operations in 1986. She was the Executive Director from 1998 to 2000, and served as Chair from 2000 through 2000. She is also a founding member of the Federation of Hispanic Organizations back in 1988. More recently, Gigi Guzmán founded the Maryland Hispanic Workforce Council, which is an organization dedicated to serving employers interested in recruiting the Latino workforce. The Maryland Hispanic Workforce Council provides an annual Workforce Conference and Job Fair to provide employment opportunities to the Latino Community.
