Dr. Susie Nemes was elected President, Ms. Theresa Daytner was elected Vice President, Mr. Juan Muñoz was elected Secretary, and Mr. Luis Díaz-Colorado was elected Treasurer. In addition, Mr. Rick Martínez remains as Board Chair and Mr. Anthony Ruiz, remains as Vice-Chair. We have also re-invigorated our standing and ad hoc committees with a suite of extremely gifted professionals, well-recognized in the business community. | Already, an aggressive event calendar has been put together starting with two very significant events in February, a unique opportunity to hear the words of wisdom the owner a former SBA small business of the year and a real opportunity to have your voice heard up close and personal with our political leadership and policy makers in Annapolis. The event which has always been extremely successful and fun features authentic Hispanic music and food as well as an extraordinary opportunity to network with the members of not just one but three Hispanic Chambers and other Hispanic business organizations. I look forward to seeing all of our members at both of these important events and our other events throughout the year. |
Empresa Financing
By Anthony Ruiz, MBA/JD,
Vice-Chairman
As you may recall, in my prior article I introduced you to the first source for unsecured financing—even for start-ups—through the SBA Community Express Loan program. That first source was through the Business Loan Express organization, located in Panama Beach, Florida. Well, after having performed over $1 billion BLX loans, they have decided to shift their focus to the SBA 504 Loan Program, specializing in real estate (a topic to be presented to you in a future article). |
